Alistair Dixon,
Partner
Alistair was one of the founding members of the European
Real Estate Private Equity industry and is one of its most
experienced executives.
His thirty years’ experience in the real estate markets,
twenty of which in investment banking and private equity,
bring a unique investment track record and insight into
global capital markets with a particular emphasis on
emerging markets.
Alistair joined the New York based investment bank Bankers
Trust (BT) in the late 1980’s. He continued his career with
Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank (which acquired BT) for the
next nineteen years, leaving in 2008, when CEO of the
European business and Global Chairman of Deutsche’s
opportunity Fund business (RREEF).
Throughout this period Alistair became a founding member of
the European Private Equity business of BT and a senior
member of its third party fund management business at
Deutsche. Alistair was instrumental in the establishment of
several Global and European Funds, providing a range of
strategies, from value add to opportunistic. These Funds
provided high quality investors returns consistently in the
range of 20.0%.
Alistair has been directly involved in transactions
totalling USD 10bn, led the Investment Committee and was a
member of the RREEF Executive Committee. His direct Global
team included 200 people with offices in 8 countries.
Alistair was one of the earliest investors in the emerging
markets leading investment strategies in the mid-1990s in
the Czech Republic and latterly in Russia, China and India.
Vojkan Brankovic, Partner
Vojkan is a highly experienced emerging market investment
manager and one of the first fund managers to have
established an institutional real estate fund in Russia.
He has over 15 years experience in the real estate funds
management and investment industry, having held senior
executive positions within MGPA, Baltic Property Trust
(BPT), Morley Fund Management, and Aviva. Key roles he has
held include; Managing Director for MGPA Emerging Europe,
Fund Manager of BPT Arista SICAV SIF and Managing Director
of BPT Asset Management in Russia, responsible for asset
management and acquisitions. In these roles he has
structured and managed a Russian real estate fund with an
investment capacity of EUR 1 billion. Vojkan has a BA (Hons)
in Economics and Finance from the European Business School
in London and is a member of the Royal Institution of
Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
Marjorie Brabet-Friel, Partner
Marjorie is a cross border M&A specialist with a unique
insider experience in the Russian real estate industry.
Marjorie is an M&A lawyer admitted to practice in NY and
Paris. She spent six years at Skadden dealing with the most
complex multi-jurisdiction transactions, debt financing and
corporate governance requirements.
Marjorie has spent the last three years in Moscow where she
joined Sistema-Hals, one of the leading Russian real estate
companies listed on the LSE with a portfolio of c. USD 4bn
in assets pre crisis. As a vice-president and member of the
management board and together with her team of five,
Marjorie was responsible for portfolio management including
sourcing and executing strategic transactions as well as
post acquisition integration. She originated, engineered and
managed the set up and operations of two landmark
partnerships with international partners for which she was
also heavily involved in the financing and the development
process. She also participated in the definition and
implementation of the leasing and exit strategies of the
portfolio’s key assets including a class A office
development, a class B business centre an iconic shopping
centre and an hotel in Moscow, a premium shopping centre in
Saint Petersburg and a luxury beach resort in Sochi.
Marjorie is a Harvard Law School graduate and holds a Master
in Law from Pantheon-Sorbonne University. She is admitted to
practice law in New York and Paris.
